Stephen started taking photographs while studying journalism in college. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Photographic Illustration / Photojournalism.

After graduation, he served as a newspaper photojournalist before leaving to pursue freelance work. For over a decade, he worked on a long-term documentary project in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, which he began in 2002. 

In addition to documentary work, he specializes in sports and action photography and is a photographic educator, teaching a variety of workshops and university level courses.

Stephen's photographs have won numerous awards and his work has been published and displayed throughout the U.S.

Stephen lives on Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast and has walked into the lobbies of fine hotels on five continents.
